A prefix is a set of characters automatically added before the scanned barcode data. If your scanner is outputting unwanted characters at the beginning of each scan, you can disable or clear the prefix setting.
Applicable to: All wireless barcode scanners
Note:
- Prefix settings are often used to add identifiers or commands before scanned data.
- Removing the prefix will restore the scanner to output only the original barcode content.
- If you still see extra characters, check if your software or system is adding them instead.
