Bluetooth barcode scanners may enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity to conserve battery. If you require a constant connection without interruptions, you can disable sleep mode to keep the Bluetooth connection always active.
Applicable to: All Bluetooth wireless barcode scanners
Note:
- Disabling sleep mode will keep the scanner continuously connected but may increase battery consumption.
- Enabling sleep mode helps extend battery life when the scanner is not in use.
- If the scanner disconnects frequently, ensure it is within Bluetooth range and fully charged.
Issue / Question
- Why does my scanner disconnect after being idle?
- How do I keep my Bluetooth scanner always connected?

Resolution / Answer
To keep the Bluetooth connection always active, follow the step below:
Scan the “Enable/Disable Sleep Mode” Barcode
*Disabled by default
- One beep with three tones: Sleep mode disabled (connection stays active)
- Two short beeps: Sleep mode enabled (scanner may disconnect after inactivity)
