Resolution / Answer
This article introduces the purpose and configuration method of "Lock/Unlock Parameter Scan". Usually refer to this article when you need to change the default behavior of the device, adapt to the business system, or find the corresponding configuration barcode.
This feature prevents decoders from scanning parameter barcodes, providing greater security than "Disable Parameter Scanning". NOTE: The decoder can only be locked if Parameter Scan is enabled.
Once locked, the only decodable parameter barcode is "UNLOCKED". Scanning any other parameter barcode (including "Enable/Disable Parameter Scanning") will produce a parameter error beep.
Steps to lock the decoder:
- Scan the "Lock" barcode.
- Scan the 4 barcodes from Appendix D "Digital Barcodes" to form the required PIN code. Numbers below 1000 need to be filled with leading zeros. For example, if you want to set the PIN to 29, scan 0, 0, 2, and 9. A "lock" beep will sound after successful setting.
Steps to unlock the decoder:
- Scan the "Unlock" barcode.
- Scan the 4 barcodes corresponding to the correct PIN from Appendix D "Digital Barcodes". An "unlock" beep will be emitted if the unlocking is successful; a parameter error beep will be emitted if an incorrect PIN is entered.
