Resolution / Answer
This setting is used to control the reading, verification, length or output rules of the specified barcode type. It is usually used when certain types of barcodes cannot be scanned, the misreading rate is high, or when it is necessary to limit the reading of barcodes in specific formats.
The code length refers to the number of characters (readable characters, including check digits) contained in the barcode. The Code 128 length can be set to any length, one or two discrete lengths, or a length within a specified range.
Note: When setting the length for different barcode types, leading zeros need to be added to the odd digits.
- **Single Discrete Length**: Only decode Code 128 symbols containing the selected length. Scan the length number from Appendix D "Digital Barcodes". For example, to decode only the 14-character Code 128, scan "Code 128 Single Discrete Length", then scan 1, 4. To correct errors or change your selection, scan "Cancel" on page D-2.
- **Two Discrete Lengths**: Only decode Code 128 symbols containing one of the two selected lengths. For example, to decode only the 2-character or 14-character Code 128, scan "Code 128 Two Discrete Lengths" and then scan 0, 2, 1, 4.
- **Length in Range**: Decodes Code 128 symbols whose length is within the specified range. For example, to decode Code 128 with 4 to 12 characters, scan the "length within the range of Code 128" first, and then scan 0, 4, 1, and 2 (single digits are padded with zeros).
- **Any length**: Decode Code 128 of any length within the capabilities of the decoder.
Code 128 - Single Discrete Length
Scan the following barcode, Code 128 - Single Discrete Length.
Code 128 - Two discrete lengths
Scan the following barcode, Code 128 - two discrete lengths.
Code 128 - Length within range
Scan the following barcode, Code 128 - Length Within Range.
* Code 128 - any length
Scan the following barcode, *Code 128 - any length.
